Physical Access
Cornerstone Housing for Women operates 4 residences. Three of these are best suited for women without mobility challenges. The fourth house, where the administrative offices also reside, has been designed for full accessibility. Our residence at 314 Booth Street includes accessible parking, a wheelchair ramp and push button entry, elevator to access all floors and accessible washroom and shower facilities.

Staff Support
Staffing is in place 24/7/365 to assist residents of all Cornerstone residences as required to access programs and services and for support with mental health issues, physical or mobility challenges, developmental or learning disabilities, hearing or visual impairments. Volunteers are also often available to assist with programs and services, allowing for greater flexibility and accommodation of women with disabilities. Staff and volunteers meet the AODA Customer Service Standards of Regulation 429/7 s.6.

Additional Considerations
All of our residences include a quiet space to gather, to accommodate those with hearing impairments, and communication or perceptual disabilities. Sign language interpreters are provided as needed. Knowledgeable staff provide referrals to other community resources and services as appropriate.

Cornerstone residences are well lit and are operated with careful attention to avoidance and removal of safety concerns. Cornerstone also has an inclusive policy for individuals who use support persons and/or service animals.

Our Website is WCAG 2.0 level A compliant.

Cornerstone is committed to accommodating persons with disabilities, wherever possible. If you have any questions, feedback or concerns about accessing our locations or services, please contact us by email accessibility@cornerstonewomen.ca or by calling (613) 254-6584 ext. 502.
